Software for scientific research

This is a list of software that I am currently using for researching a topic, synthesising the information, writing a manuscript, and reviewing a manuscript. These are pretty generic tools with plenty of uses, but I use them to perform my role as a scientist.

Mekentosj.com Papers2 (tool for finding articles, organising them, and creating citations)

Mindola.com SuperNotecard (Electronic index card system)

Microsoft.com Microsoft Office for Mac (Productivity suite)

Evernote.com Evernote and Skitch (Electronic clippings and sketching)

Docear.org Docear (mind mapping software)

Edit: I shouldn’t forget Endnote.com EndNote (referencing software).

Edit2: Just discovered literatureandlatte.com Scrivener (writing studio)
